All Sizes
All modern browsers support PNG favicons: 16 and 32 serve browser tabs, 48 works for desktop shortcuts, 180 is the recommended apple-touch-icon size, and 192 plus 512 are used in PWA manifests. Put the downloaded files in your site root after generating.
How to Use
A favicon is the small icon your site shows in browser tabs, bookmarks, history lists and phone home screens, and each context expects its own size: 16 and 32 for tabs, 48 for shortcuts, 180 for apple-touch-icon, 192 and 512 for PWA manifests. This tool crops the uploaded image to a centered square and produces all eight PNG sizes at once, ready to download one by one — no design software or command line involved.
How to use: pick an image (square works best, other ratios are cropped automatically), press the generate button, wait for all eight sizes to finish, then download each file. Upload them to your site root, reference them with link tags, and register the 192 and 512 icons in your PWA manifest. Everything is processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded and no registration is needed.
FAQ
Which favicon sizes do I actually need?
At minimum ship 16 and 32 for browser tabs. Add 180 as apple-touch-icon.png for iOS home screens, and 192 plus 512 if your site is a PWA. The tool generates all eight sizes in one pass, so you can pick what you need.
How do I reference the icons in HTML?
Put the downloaded PNG files in your site root and add link tags inside the head, for example rel=icon with type=image/png and href=/favicon-32x32.png. Use rel=apple-touch-icon for the 180 icon, and list the 192 and 512 icons in your PWA manifest.
What if my image is not square?
The tool automatically takes the largest centered square from the image and scales it down, so keep the important content near the middle. For full control, crop the image to a square in an editor first, or use the image resizer.
