HEIC Converter

Convert HEIC photos to JPG/PNG locally

Output settings

How to Use

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, which often refuses to open on Windows PCs, Android phones or when shared with friends. This converter turns HEIC/HEIF photos into JPEG, a format every device understands, or into lossless PNG for editing and archiving.

How to use: pick a HEIC photo, choose the output format (JPEG quality is adjustable), press "Convert" and download the result. Everything runs locally in your browser - your photos are never uploaded to any server, and there is no account or software to install.

FAQ

What is HEIC and why can't I open it?

HEIC is Apple's high-efficiency image format since iOS 11. It compresses better than JPEG but is not supported by Windows, Android or many websites. Converting to JPEG/PNG makes the photo universally viewable.

Will converted photos lose quality?

JPEG output defaults to 90% quality, visually indistinguishable from the original, adjustable between 10% and 95%. PNG output is lossless - identical pixels, just a larger file.

Why does conversion fail?

Common causes: the file is corrupted, it is not a real HEIC (just a renamed file), or the browser cannot decode it. If your iPhone also saved a JPEG copy in the album, run that JPEG through the image converter instead.
